dude, i loved erotica. still do. it really takes me back to being a freshman in college - when i was in love with my best friend, coincidentally, a gay man. he had the remix tape of erotica. he loved to blast the "jeep" mix in his jeep. i should have known - he wore a $300 belt, while the rest of us wore "grunge" stuff from st. vinnies. he also had a giant poster of madonna and another poster of james dean on his wall. i was like - this guy is perfect. he wore vests, smelled good, and held open doors. but, alas, not for me. anyway. i love the cd. the only way i can think of describing it is thick, emotional, slightly muffled so as to ease your nerves, moody, and crackly. all in a good way. a very good way.
